In December 2020, in partnership with Israel’s Ministry of Diaspora Affairs we launched AM”I, the National Alliance to strengthen Israeli’s knowledge world Jewry. Suppose we are to be the State of the Jewish people. In that case, we in Israel have a long ways to go to learn about Jews outside of Israel and ultimately develop a sense of belonging and responsibility towards Diaspora Jewry.
After surveying and mapping the field for several months, we focused on three areas. We are working with the 15-25-year-old segment via identity-forming programs. We are investing in public awareness efforts, and we will continue to identify and work with influential individuals in Israeli society to leverage their influence to promote and further our mutual goals.
Global Jewish Unity Day is one set day in the calendar dedicated to Jewish unity across the globe. The day was inspired by the sense of unity that engulfed the Jewish world at the time of the kidnapping of Eyal, Gilad, and Naftali, who were killed in the summer of 2014. Unity Day’s purpose is to earmark one day to derive strength from our wholeness consciously, our uniting across labels, compartments, and communities.
